Injury toll from morning drone attacks in Kharkiv rises to 82, one person killed
According to Ukrinform, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office announced this on Telegram.
"On July 7, between 05:20-05:40 and again between 10:20-10:30, the enemy launched targeted drone strikes using ten UAVs, preliminarily identified as Geran-2, against civilian infrastructure in the Shevchenkivskyi, Kholodnohirskyi, and Slobidskyi districts of Kharkiv," the statement said.
According to updated data as of 21:00, 82 people were injured or suffered acute stress reactions, the prosecutor's office said.
Among the injured are eight children, including four girls and four boys.
The prosecutor's office also said that a 34-year-old woman had been killed in the attack.
Early on July 7, the enemy attacked Kharkiv with drones, striking areas in the Shevchenkivskyi and Slobidskyi districts. At around 10:30, Russian forces launched a second wave of attacks, causing a fire in the private residential sector of the Kholodnohirskyi district.
The strikes damaged apartment buildings, private homes, a business, a kindergarten, shops, a trolleybus line, roads, and traffic lights.
According to Ukraine's Ground Forces, Russian drones also struck the building of the Kharkiv Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center and the surrounding area, injuring three people.
Earlier reports had stated that 71 people, including seven children, were injured in the two waves of drone attacks. The 34-year-old woman who was critically wounded in the strike on the Kholodnohirskyi district later died in the hospital.
