Ukrainian forces strike Borisoglebsk airfield in Russia's Voronezh region, home to Su jets

Ukrainian Defense Forces have struck the Borisoglebsk airfield in Russia’s Voronezh region, where Su-34, Su-35S, and Su-30SM aircraft are based.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

“As part of efforts to reduce Russia’s ability to carry out airstrikes, on July 5, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Borisoglebsk airfield. This airfield is a base for Russian Su-34, Su-35S, and Su-30SM aircraft,” the statement reads.

According to the General Staff, the strike hit a stockpile of guided aerial bombs, a trainer-combat aircraft, and possibly other aircraft.

The extent of the damage is still being clarified, the statement adds.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on July 4, a military facility producing warheads for Shahed-type drones was hit in Russia’s Moscow region.
