The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces renamed the Kharkiv axis to South Slobozhanshchyna, adding the North Slobozhanshchyna axis to the daily war updates after the Russians intensified their offensive efforts in the border areas of Sumy region.

That’s according to the General Staff press service, Ukrinform reports.

"Due to the intensification of enemy activity in Sumy region’s border areas and the importance of informing the public about the progress of repelling Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces will report on the course of hostilities in another axis, North Slobozhanshchyna, starting June 16, 2025," the report says.

In addition, the General Staff noted that the Kharkiv axis has been renamed to South Slobozhanshchyna.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, 175 combat clashes were recorded between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian invasion troops in the past day, as of 22:00.
