Ukraine downs 49 out of 63 drones launched by Russia overnight

Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized 49 out of 63 drones launched by Russia during an overnight attack that began late on June 11, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

In a post on Telegram, the Air Force reported that beginning at 22:00 on June 11, the Russian military launched a wave of Shahed-type attack drones and decoy UAVs from multiple directions, including Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The primary targets of the drone assault were the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Odesa regions.

Ukraine's air defenses, including aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, drone countermeasures, and mobile fire teams, engaged the threats across the east, south, and north of the country.

As of 09:00 on Thursday, June 12, Ukrainian air defense neutralized 49 drones, including 28 shot down and 21 jammed by electronic warfare.

Drone strikes were confirmed at seven locations. Debris from downed drones fell in four areas.
