Nearly 30 infants in Ukraine die from Russian attacks since 2022 - prosecutors

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion, about 30 Ukrainian children under the age of one died from Russian shelling.

This was reported on national television by Yana Tomilina, head of the Department for the Protection of Children's Interests at the Prosecutor General's Office, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Since the full-scale invasion, 2,602 children have been affected, 631 of them have died. The youngest child who died was 23 days old, a boy. That happened in Mariupol. If we analyze data on all the children who died, nearly 30 such children have not even reached the age of one," Tomilina said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the whole world to stand in solidarity with Ukraine on Day of Remembrance of Children Who Died as a Result of Russia’s Armed Aggression against Ukraine. The Head of State stressed that Ukraine’s authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of children killed by Russia in its war of aggression.

As reported, referring to the Prosecutor General's Office, 631 children died as a result of Russia’s full-blown armed aggression.
