In Dnipro, a historic building, the Palace of Prince Potemkin, was destroyed as a result of a Russian attack.

This was reported in Telegram by Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov, Ukrinform reports.

“What kind of ... freaks ... do you have to be to shoot at the very center of the city, at dense residential buildings and in the process destroy the historic building of the palace of Grand Duke Potemkin, which he built for Catherine II?” Filatov wrote.

He added that the building, which now houses the Palace of Students and Youth, will be restored.

“But we will rename it in honor of Hetman Sahaidachny. He was the one who burned Moscow,” he added.

Potemkin Palace is one of the oldest buildings in Dnipro, an architectural monument of national importance. The exact date of construction of the palace has not been established - it was built between 1786 and 1790.
