Attack on Sumy: civilian casualty toll up to 106

The number of those affected by a Russian missile strike targeting the city of Sumy on March 24 has increased to 106.

The Sumy City Council reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform saw.

“The latest data from the health department say 106 people sought medical assistance: 83 adults and 23 children,” the statement says.

At this time, it has been established that 73 buildings were damaged as a result of the strike, including 12 non-residential ones, 36 apartment blocks, and 25 private homes.

Four cars were also damaged.

“Given significant destruction, a decision was made to relocate residents from three houses on Metaluhgiv Street and one on Stepanenkivska Street. All utility services have been suspended for these buildings,” the city council reported.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on the afternoon of March 24, the Russian army launched a missile strike on the city center in Sumy, targeting the residential sector and infrastructure facilities, including educational facilities.

Earlier reports said 101 civilians had been affected.
