Ukrainian border guards have not detected any attempts by the Russians to approach the border from Belarusian territory or concentrate forces opposite Kyiv region. However, this section of the border remains under threat.

According to Ukrinform, Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), stated this during a television broadcast.

"The border with Belarus is, of course, very different from the border with Russia. As of now, we are not recording any unusual actions from the other side of the border, nor any attempts by enemy groups to approach or amass forces near our border. This applies to the entire border with Belarus, including the section opposite Kyiv region," said Demchenko.

Demchenko emphasized that this direction remains a potential threat, which is why fortifying defensive capabilities and strengthening the border line with fortifications is crucial.

"This also applies to the Chernobyl exclusion zone and other regions bordering Belarus," he added.

As reported, in December 2024, the Belarusian Armed Forces deployed around 1,500 troops to the border with Ukraine.
