Casualties reported as Russians shell Sumy region with artillery

On February 4, the Russian forces shelled civilian infrastructure in Krasnopillia community, Sumy region, killing one man and injuring another.

The Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"On February 4, 2025, using methods of warfare prohibited by international law, the enemy shelled civilian infrastructure in Krasnopillia community, Sumy district, from Russian territory," the statement reads.

According to prosecutors, a 50-year-old resident of the village of Hrabovske was fatally wounded around 13:10.

An hour earlier, a 43-year-old man riding a bicycle toward the village of Mykhailivske was also injured and later hospitalized.

Prosecutors and law enforcement agencies are documenting the consequences of the shelling.

The Sumy District Prosecutor’s Office is conducting a pretrial investigation into war crimes resulting in death (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

As previously reported by Ukrinform, in Buryn and Sumy communities, two Russian drones damaged windows in residential buildings and an educational institution, as well as several summer houses.
