UAVs attacked the Astrakhan gas processing plant in Russia.

Andrii Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“The Astrakhan gas processing plant was attacked. This is one of Russia’s key energy facilities, which ensures the processing of gas condensate and the production of gasoline, diesel fuel and more,” he wrote.

Kovalenko also noted that the plant has a significant impact on Russia's military and industrial complex, as the fuel and energy sector is the primary source of funding for the defense sector.

Some Russian Telegram channels reported that UAVs attacked a gas processing plant near Astrakhan. Local residents reported air defense operations and signs of fire at the facility following the drone attack.

The Astrakhan gas processing plant is located at the Astrakhan gas condensate field and processes natural gas and gas condensate.
