Explaining complex things in simple words: Support Ukrainian book; Putinism internal opposition; Russian army is a criminal war gathering

The Center for Strategic Communication and Information Security pursues efforts to provide a brief explanation to foreign audiences on the current topics of particular interest as regards Ukraine.

SUPPORT UKRAINIAN BOOK

As a result of a Russian missile attack, the printing house Factor Druk in Kharkiv was destroyed, where a number of Ukrainian publishing houses printed their books.

  • Kharkiv, which is currently one of the main objects of Russian missile terror, is also the centre of Ukrainian book publishing. Every third book in the country is printed by the Kharkiv Faktor Druk printing house.
  • This is not the first Russian attack on the Kharkiv printing houses. Earlier, the Gurov and Co and Aurora printing houses were destroyed, and the House of Printing was damaged by shelling.
  • Attacks on Ukrainian book publishing are another manifestation of Russia's genocidal war, which seeks to destroy Ukrainian culture, language, and identity. Ruscists kill Ukrainian writers, and burn books in the temporarily occupied territories.
  • In response to the Russian terror, a flash mob in support of the Ukrainian book began around the world. Famous figures and foreign diplomats buy Ukrainian books published in Kharkiv and talk about this on social networks.
  • Kharkiv needs moral support, as well as effective air defence protection. We call on our partners to intensify the process of providing Ukraine with modern air defence systems.

PUTINISM INTERNAL OPPOSITION

On May 23, a Russian Opposition Forum in Support of Ukraine was held in Lviv with the participation of more than 40 anti-Putin leading opposition groups.

  • Military means alone are not enough for Ukraine to defeat the aggressor. Political leverage is also necessary to weaken the enemy.
  • Ukraine, to win, also needs allies in the middle of the Russian Federation. The appearance of Russians, who seek the defeat of Putunism, is positive.
  • Such people are gathered in Lviv. In particular, the forum was attended by Russian volunteers who have been fighting side by side with Ukrainian defenders for a long time.
  • We support national liberation movements in Russia: on May 17, Kyiv hosted an international conference on the rights of enslaved peoples of the Russian Federation, organized by the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada.
  • Ukraine is interested in the fact that after the defeat of Putinism, Russia no longer poses a military threat to Ukraine and neighbouring countries and the whole world. Therefore, we are already supporting forces that are ready to take responsibility for this.

RUSSIAN ARMY IS A WAR CRIMINAL GATHERING

  • So-called ‘’ world’s second army’’ broke its teeth in Ukraine and has been engaged in heavy positional battles for two years.
  • Russian occupiers are an army of war criminals, looters, amnesty cannibals, destroyers of cities, and killers of women, children and people with disabilities.
  • During the 27 months of the full-scale war, the aggressor’s losses of personnel reached half a million. The Kremlin, in fact, disposes of the male population of the Russian Federation.
  • Russian recruiters gather mercenaries from all over the world, ready to kill Ukrainians for money. Citizens of Tajikistan, Nepal, Cuba, Somalia, etc. are regularly captured by the Defence Forces. Many ‘’fighters for the Russian world’’ do not even speak Russian.
  • Putin does not trust his generals and fears a mutiny. It is this that can explain personnel purges of the generalship under trumped-up corruption pretexts.
