Russians expropriating shopping areas of Ukrainian chains in Luhansk region
"The occupation administrations on the ground were ordered to expropriate shopping areas for the sale of products from the so-called Russia’s ‘subordinate’ regions. They must be located in places where a large number of local people live or gather. That is, we are talking about markets or shops belonging to Ukrainian retail chains," Artem Lysohor, Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, posted on Facebook.
As for the territory captured in 2014, there is an instruction to place Russian goods and products more advantageously on the shelves, disregarding the interests of the local manufacturer, Lysohor added.
Therefore, the support for local business, which was repeatedly declared ahead of the so-called first elections, remained only on paper.
As reported, in August, buckwheat, cabbage, beets and potatoes were almost twice as expensive in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region as in Ukraine-controlled territory.
