Apart from F-16 aircraft and pilot training, Ukraine also needs appropriate weapons: missiles, ammunition, etc.

"It is necessary not only to train pilots but also to provide Ukraine with all types of weapons for this aircraft – missiles, bombs, ammunition – because in addition to jets, tools are needed to dispose of Russian junk," Yuriy Ihnat, the spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said during the United News nationwide telethon, Ukrinform reports.

When asked how many pilots could be trained in general, Ihnat noted that all those who had the appropriate level of training and were ready to defend the country.

"Currently, we cannot conduct educational and training flights inside the country, and we have to understand that most of our pilots will definitely be trained in those countries that will provide us with platforms. If the United States is ready to do this, it is a very good sign, because the United States has the best base for pilot training," the Air Force spokesperson said.

He also emphasized the importance of pilots' knowledge of the language and aviation terminology.

"In the USA, they must first get to know each other, determine the level of each person's training, in particular the language level, and then it will be possible to move to the practical phase, that is, training on flight simulators and then on combat aircraft," Ihnat explained.

According to the Air Force spokesman, after that, Ukrainian pilots will practice flights with the combat use of aviation.

As reported, the White House said that the United States and allies were considering various locations for Ukrainian F-16 training.
