
Russian S300 missiles hit village in Zaporizhzhia village, killing two civilians
The Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this on Telegram, Ukrinform saw.
"According to the inquiry, on August 14, 2023, around 02:20 at night, Russia’s military, disregarding the norms of international humanitarian law, launched a missile attack involving an S-300 air defense system on the village of Stepne, Zaporizhzhia district. As a result of the missiles hitting a private residential sector, two locals died and another woman was injured," the report reads.

Under the procedural guidance of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was initiated into the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Oleh Buriak, head of Zaporizhzhia District Military Administration, said in a comment to Ukrinform that the woman injured by the strike is now in intensive care.
"The injured woman was taken to a medical facility. She was operated on around 6:00. She is now in intensive care," he said.
The injured woman, 64, was at home with her husband at the time of the strike. One of the missiles hit their house.
The woman’s husband was killed on the spot.
Another missile also hit a residential building, killing an elderly woman.
According to the official, in total, about 20 houses were damaged in the village. Energy repair teams are working to restore power supplies while volunteers have brought construction materials to cover shattered windows and broken roofs.
As reported, Russian troops shelled 24 settlements across Zaporizhzhia region.
