On Sunday, a National Guard soldier shot down two Russian drones in the Luhansk region.

That's according to the National Guard of Ukraine press service, Ukrinform reports.

"Yesterday, a senior soldier with the codename Khaitauer saw enemy drones approaching his and his comrades' positions. Undaunted, the guy opened fire with a machine gun and shot down one of them before it flew up and had time to drop a grenade attached to it," the report says.

According to the NGU, the second drone also approached the trench of Ukrainian soldiers but hit nearby. "It had two VOG-25 type ammunition. To avoid unnecessary risks of an ammunition explosion, the guardsman reacted quickly and cut them off with a knife and threw them towards the enemy," the statement said.
