Restoring the operational capacity of the large landing ship Olenegorsky Gornyak in the near future would be a challenging task for Russians.

The relevant statement was made by Andrii Yusov, the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Technically, restoring the large landing ship Olenegorsky Gornyak in the near future will be difficult,” Yusov told.

In his words, the enemy ship suffered very significant damage, which would prevent it from resuming sailing any time soon.

However, according to Yusov, Russia has got other warships. Thus, the so-called ‘unidentified submerged objects’ have more military targets to work on.

Yusov mentioned that, in the present conditions, Russia’s fleet and naval forces do not seem so invulnerable to other means, which may be smaller but more advanced.

“Hence, the occupiers cannot feel safe across the entire territory – either on land or in water. This will stop when they leave our territory and Ukraine’s sovereignty is restored,” Yusov stressed.

A reminder that, on the night of August 4, 2023, Russia’s Olenegorsky Gornyak landing ship with about 100 crew members on board was struck by surface kamikaze drones near the Black Sea Fleet’s Novorossiysk base.
