U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said he thinks that the Kremlin hears and understands the demands of the international community on the need to stop using food as a weapon of war and restore grain supplies from Ukraine.

He said this in an interview with the ABC television channel on Thursday, August 3, Ukrinform reports.

"I think Russia is hearing a demand signal from countries around the world that they need to stop using food as a weapon of war in Ukraine," Blinken said.

In this regard, he mentioned a summit between Russia and African countries last week.

"Half the African leaders didn’t show up, which tells you something," Blinken said.

According to him, the leaders that did made it very clear to Vladimir Putin that they wanted the Black Sea grain export deal back on.

"Kenya said that Russia tearing up this deal was a stab in the back," he added.
