War update: 29 engagements in five directions, intense battles ongoing

This is stated in the morning report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published on Facebook.

"Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 65 airstrikes and 71 MLRS attacks on the positions of our troops and populated settlements. Unfortunately, apart from destroyed infrastructure, civilian casualties were reported," the report reads.

Russian occupiers also attacked Ukraine with Shahed combat drones. A total of 28 kamikaze drones were used. As a result of successful combat operations, Ukraine’s air defense units destroyed 26 combat UAVs. Our defenders also destroyed five operational-tactical reconnaissance UAVs.

Over the past day, Ukraine’s Air Force launched 15 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment and four more on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

Missile and artillery units hit three enemy command posts, 10 artillery systems on firing positions, an air defense system, and an EW station.

In Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups.

In Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the enemy maintains its military presence. Over the past day, airstrikes were launched on the areas of Volfyne in Sumy region; Veterynarne in Kharkiv region. Mortars and artillery were fired at more than 20 settlements, in particular, Karpovychi, Mykolayivka in Chernihiv region; Sopych, Romashkove in Sumy region; Strilecha, Veterynarne, Stoyivka, Sotnytskyi Kozachok in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian soldiers firmly hold the defense. The enemy launched airstrikes in the areas of Podoly, Kucherivka, and Kyslivka in Kharkiv region. Krasne Pershe, Kamyanka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masiutivka, Kyslivka in Kharkiv region and Novoselivske in Luhansk region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Vesele, Donetsk region. The enemy launched airstrikes near Bilohorivka and Nevske in Luhansk region. Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Rozdolivka, Torske, Verkhniokamyanske, Vesele in Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

In Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks in the area of Hryhorivka and east of Orikhovo-Vasylivka under heavy aviation and artillery fire. More than 15 settlements, including Oleksandro-Shultyne, Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Pivdenne, Ivanivske in Donetsk region, came under enemy artillery fire.

In Avdiyivka direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in Avdiyivka, Pervomayske, and Nevelske areas. The enemy launched airstrikes near New York and Avdiyivka. At the same time, the occupiers fired artillery at more than 10 settlements, including Avdiyivka, Berdychi, Sieverne, and Nevelske in Donetsk region.

In Maryinka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the areas of Pobieda, Novomykhaylivka, and Maryinka settlements under enemy artillery fire. The enemy shelled more than 15 settlements, including Kostiantynivka, Maryinka, Pobieda, and Yelyzavetivka in Donetsk region.

In Shakhtarske direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations near Blahodatne. Airstrikes were launched near Odradne, Storozheve, Rivnopil, and Makarivka. The Russians hit more than 15 settlements, including Vuhledar, Blahodatne, Makarivka, and Prechystivka in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy focuses its main efforts on preventing the further advance of our troops. The invaders launched airstrikes in the area of Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia region; Zolota Balka, Molodizhne in Kherson region. Artillery was fired at more than 30 settlements, including Huliaypole, Huliaypilske, Zaliznychne, Poltavka, Olhivske in Zaporizhzhia region; Kozatske, Lviv, Inzhenerne, Tokarivka, Kherson in Kherson region; Dniprovske, Dmytrivka, Ivanivka in Mykolayiv region. At the same time, the defense forces of Ukraine continue to go on the offensive in Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, gaining a foothold on the reached boundaries and taking counter-battery countermeasures.
