Environmentalists remind of prohibition to visit islands of the Khortytsia reserve near the Dnipro HPP
The Khortytsia National Reserve reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"Dear residents and visitors of the Khortytsia National Reserve! We all know about the historical charms of the island. But, in addition to the historical and cultural reserve, Khortytsia Island with the adjacent islands is also the territory of the Nature Reserve Fund of Ukraine - the geological reserve "Dnipro Rapids", which includes Dubovyi Island, Roztobin Island, the rocks of Two Brothers and Three Stogs, and others," the experts noted.
Now, as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, the water level has dropped, and some islands where water was an obstacle for uninvited guests a month ago can be reached even on foot along the Dnipro.
Due to the large crowd of people, the animals are in a double trap.
"We remind you that the regulations on the Dnipro Rapids Reserve prohibit mooring any boat to the islands within its boundaries and, accordingly, prohibit staying there. Violation of this provision is subject to administrative liability under Article 91 of the Code of Administrative Offenses," the post says.
To ensure that the animals do not leave the islands and continue to live on them, residents are asked to refrain from visiting them to minimize the factor of anxiety.
As reported, illegal felling of trees and shrubs in large volumes was detected on the territory of the local landscape reserve "Svicha River with Mizunka tributary" in Prykarpattia. A wood chipper was found at the site. The circumstances of the incident indicate signs of a crime under Part 3 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely illegal felling of trees in the nature reserve fund.
