On June 8, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale occurred in the Poltava region at a depth of 10 kilometers. The earthquake was detected 26 kilometers southeast of Poltava.

This is reported on the website of the Main Center for Special Control, according to Ukrinform.

"On June 08, 2023, the Main Center for Special Control registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 in the Poltava region. The source of the earthquake is located 26 km southeast of Poltava, at about 10 km depth," the report says.

As noted, according to the classification, this earthquake is classified as a felt one. It is felt by few people who are indoors; outdoors - only in favorable conditions. The vibrations are similar to a shaking caused by a light truck. Attentive observers notice slight vibrations of light objects, stronger on the upper floors.

Earthquakes of similar magnitude in the Poltava region were recorded on May 26 and January 14, 2023, with magnitudes of 3.5 and 2.7.

As reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.2 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Carpathian region near Yaremche on April 27, 2023, at a depth of 3 km.
