Armed Forces of Ukraine down 14 out of 15 Shahed drones launched by Russians at night

This is stated in the report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, March 28, published on Facebook.

"Over the past day, the enemy launched 24 air strikes, 12 missile strikes, and 55 MLRS attacks. The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics against civilians. On March 27, as a result of a missile attack on the infrastructure of the city of Slovyansk, Donetsk region, civilians were injured and killed. Apartment blocks and private houses were damaged. In Kherson region, in the town of Beryslav, a civilian object was damaged by an enemy airstrike," the report reads.

At night, the aggressor launched 15 Shahed-136 combat UAVs, 14 of which were destroyed by Ukrainian defenders.

It is noted that the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on offensive operations in Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions. The fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka. Thanks to professional and coordinated actions, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 62 enemy attacks in the indicated directions over the past day.

In Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly, and no signs of the formation of offensive groups have been detected. Over the past day, the enemy shelled the areas of Bleshnia in Chernihiv region; Baranivka, Tovstodubove, Studenok, Holyshivske, Stukalivka, Volfyne, Turya, Mayske, Mezenivka, Popivka in Sumy region; Tymofiyivka, Krasne, Ustynivka, and Chorne in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Krokhmalne, Kreminna, Kuzmyne, Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamyanske, and Berestove. The areas of Kamyanka, Kolodiazne, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupyansk in Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka, Novoselivske, Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Terny, Siversk, Spirne, Vyimka in Donetsk region came under enemy artillery fire.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues its assault on the city of Bakhmut, which is held by our defenders, and conducts operations in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, and Ozarianivka settlements. Vasiukivka, Hryhorivka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Bakhmut, Predtechyne, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Druzhba, and Mayorsk in Donetsk region were struck.

In Avdiivka and Marinka directions, the enemy made futile offensive attempts near the settlements of Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, and Marinka. The invaders used non-lethal aerosol tear gas grenades in the areas of Novokalynove, Lastochkyne, Pervomaiske and Marinka settlements. More than 10 settlements were hit, in particular Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Sieverne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Marinka, Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region.

In Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy shelled the areas of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Vremivka settlements in Donetsk region.

The enemy holds the defense in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. Vilne Pole, Novosilka, Novopil in Donetsk region; Poltavka, Malynivka, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya, Novodanylivka in Zaporizhia region; Kherson, Kozatske, Antonivka in Kherson region came under enemy fire.

The Russian occupiers continue to intensify regime measures in the temporarily occupied territories. Recently, there has been a tendency to impose restrictions on the free movement of Ukrainian citizens between populated settlements. In particular, in Horlivka district of Donetsk region and Kakhovka district of Kherson region, it is impossible to get to certain settlements without local registration.

"Over the past day, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched nine strikes on enemy personnel clusters, and one strike on an anti-aircraft missile system. Also, our soldiers shot down five enemy reconnaissance UAVs of various types. At the same time, missile and artillery units hit three command posts, an enemy manpower cluster, an artillery unit at a firing position, an ammunition depot, a fuel depot, and two more important targets," the General Staff summed up.

As reported, since February 24, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have eliminated about 171,160 Russian aggressors.
