Over the past week, Russian troops have been massively shelling the villages around Avdiivka, not only the town itself and its suburbs.

"The situation is very difficult and very tense. The enemy, apart from shelling Avdiivka and the positions around Avdiivka, has been massively hitting the villages near and on the way to the town over the past week. Launches powerful missile strikes on Ocheretyne, Orlivka, Semenivka, Sieverne villages. Two people were killed yesterday. Today, one person was killed. These villages are being erased. Most likely, they are sure for some reason that there is a lot of personnel, our guys, and so they are trying to cut off Avdiivka, disrupt the logistics, the delivery of personnel and ammunition," Vitaliy Barabash, Head of the Avdiivka Town Military Administration, said during the national news telethon.

According to his data, the Avdiivka Coke Plant is under enemy fire every day, and March 11 was no exception.

"Just 40 minutes ago, the road from the plant to the central part of the town was massively fired with flechettes – pointed steel projectiles that scatter and pierce everything. Dozens of strikes are launched on the town daily, mainly from Grad MLRS as it is today. Weather conditions have prevented them from assaulting for more than a day, so they use artillery, tube artillery, tanks, and rocket systems. Today, four rocket strikes were launched on Ocheretyne community, five – on Avdiivka. But we understand that there will be more, according to the schedule. There were no airstrikes today, but yesterday there were four. The situation is tense. More than 250 strikes were launched around the town, more than 30 – on the city itself," Barabash said.
