Ukrainian forces hit command post, strike enemy positions

The Air Force of Ukraine launched 13 strikes on enemy concentration areas, as well as three strikes on the positions of their anti-aircraft missile systems.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in an evening update on Facebook on January 18, Ukrinform reports

According to the General Staff, the enemy launched 22 air strikes and carried out more than 50 attacks using multiple launch rocket systems. There is still a threat of enemy air strikes and missile attacks on critical infrastructure facilities throughout Ukraine.

The Russian troops continue their attempts to capture Donetsk region within its administrative borders. The invaders are focusing their main efforts on conducting an offensive in the Bakhmut direction. In the Avdiivka direction, enemy offensive actions are unsuccessful.

In addition, the enemy is attempting to improve the tactical position in the Lyman direction. In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the aggressor carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Orikhiv and Huliaipole. In the Kupiansk, Novopavlivka and Kherson directions, the enemy holds the defense.

“Aircraft of the defense forces launched 13 strikes on the areas of concentration of the enemy, as well as three strikes on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems. In addition, our defenders shot down an enemy Ka-52 helicopter and Russia’s experimental reconnaissance UAV ‘Merlin-VR’,” the report says.  

Units of the Ukrainian rocket troops and artillery hit one enemy command post, an area of concentration of invaders, as well as an electronic warfare system.

As reported by Ukrinform, from February 24, 2022 to January 18, 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 117,770 Russian invaders, including 820 soldiers over the past day alone.
