Russian troops have launched 234 strikes near the Donetsk region’s Soledar and Bakhmut in the past 24 hours. The enemy lost 119 soldiers in killed and 108 in wounded.

The relevant statement was made by Spokesperson for the Eastern Grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Cherevatyi during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“234 strikes have been launched over the past day. 32 military clashes have occurred. The enemy lost 119 soldiers in killed and 108 in wounded in that direction only. In particular, the enemy shelled Soledar 70 times with different artillery pieces,” Cherevatyi told.

In his words, the enemy units, involved in hostilities in Soledar, are now rotating, especially those that had suffered heavy losses.

According to Cherevatyi, enemy losses are really high there. In fact, Russians move over corpses of their fellow soldiers. Enemy assault groups try to overcome the resistance of the Ukrainian side one after another in order to advance further. Such an extensive way of conducting warfare results in heavy enemy losses.

Cherevatyi mentioned that the Russian side focused efforts on Soledar for several reasons. Firstly, Russian troops need to show at least some success on land. Secondly, the Wagner Group is a driving force in this direction. They really want to gain some military and political value now and prove that they are a serious element in conducting warfare and can ensure guaranteed victories.
