Bodies of 42 fallen defenders returned to Ukraine

On December 27, the bodies of 42 servicemen who were killed in action while defending their Homeland were returned to Ukraine.

This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

"The Office of the Commissioner for Missing Persons, together with law enforcement agencies, continues to bring home Heroes who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine. Another transfer of bodies took place today as 42 KIAs were delivered," the statement reads.

In total, the Commissioner for Missing Persons since his appointment has managed to bring home the bodies of 869 defenders.

"Work on the exchange does not stop for a day. Despite the fact that the negotiation process is complicated and long, we are trying to pace it up. We understand every family that is waiting for the return of defenders to honor them. We will bring everyone back," emphasized Oleh Kotenko, Commissioner for Missing Persons.

As reported, on December 6, the bodies of 49 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine, and on November 22, another 33 bodies were repatriated.
