National police opens more than 52,600 criminal proceedings over Russian crimes in Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the National Police has opened 52,613 criminal proceedings to investigate the crimes committed by the Russians and their accomplices in Ukraine.

This is said in a report issued by the press service of the National Police, according to Ukrinform.

"Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the National Police investigators have initiated 52,613 inquiries into the crimes committed by service members of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and their accomplices in Ukraine," the report says.

In particular, 41,039 cases were opened under Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of laws and customs of war), 9,162– Art. 110 (Encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine), 2,224 – Art. 111-1 (Collaborative activities), 103 – Art. 111 (High treason), 37 – Art. 113 (Sabotage), etc.

In addition, police officers have opened 53 criminal proceedings on the facts of sexual violence committed by Russian military personnel.  

As reported, the Ministry of Internal Affairs on December 23 announced that the police had opened 50,858 cases related to Russian crimes in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war.
