Ukraine will not leave behind any of its citizens who are now being held in Russian prisons, colonies, and torture camps.

Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a video address to the nation, Ukrinform reports.

"We will not leave a single Ukrainian behind in Russian prisons, camps and ‘Izoliatsias’ (a reference to a notorious torture house in the occupied Donetsk - ed.). We remember everyone. The day will come and we will welcome you upon your release," said the head of state.

According to the President, Friday was special, because on this day he honored with awards the heroes released from Russian captivity and those who work for the return of Ukrainians from Russian captivity.

"I’d like to now once again thank everyone who performs this task. 1,331 – that’s how many people have already been freed throughout the full-scale war," Zelensky added.

As reported by Ukrinform, on December 2, Volodymyr Zelensky met in Kyiv with Ukrainian defenders who had been released from Russian captivity, and granted them state awards.

Since February 24, full-scale Russian military aggression has been ongoing in Ukraine. Defense Forces have been fiercely repelling Russian aggression for 282 days.
