2 killed, 1 injured in Russian strike on Bakhmut

On Friday, August 19, an elderly man and a woman were killed in Donetsk region as a result of an enemy strike on the town of Bakhmut. Another elderly woman was injured and hospitalized.

As the Donetsk Region Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine posted on Facebook, the fire broke out after the Russian invaders struck Bakhmut.

"Upon arrival at the site, it was established that an outbuilding in the territory of a private household caught fire as a result of the strike. At 10:15, the fire was put out. Elderly people – a man and a woman – were killed in the strike," the department reported.

The rescuers also received information from the police that a woman born in 1951 had been injured in the strike and was hospitalized.

As reported, the troops of the Russian Federation killed five civilians and injured ten more in Donetsk region on August 18.

A mandatory evacuation is underway in Donetsk region. By the autumn-winter period, no more than 235,000 people involved in the defense and maintenance of critical infrastructure should remain, and the rest should be evacuated.
