Fourteen settlements come under enemy fire in Donetsk Region

On August 17, 2022, Russian troops opened fire on 14 settlements in Donetsk Region. Casualties among civilians were reported.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Internal Affairs Ministry on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The enemy used missiles and artillery against 14 settlements in Donetsk Region. Casualties among civilians were reported. The police documented the war crimes committed by Russia,” the report states.

In particular, Russian troops struck Avdiivka seven times. The massive enemy shelling was also recorded in Bakhmut, Druzhkivka, Krasnohorivka, Siversk, Toretsk, Komyshivka, Ocheretyne, Zhelanne Druhe, Memryk, Netailove, Pervomaiske, Fedorivka and Svitle.

Russian invaders used the S-300 missile systems, Uragan and Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), artillery, as well as launched air strikes.

As a result, a total of 51 objects were damaged, including 40 residential houses, municipal enterprise, school, agricultural machinery, hangar and correctional facility.

A reminder that, according to the data from Donetsk Regional Military Administration Head Pavlo Kyrylenko, three civilians were killed and six injured in Russia’s shelling of Donetsk Region on August 17, 2022.
