Russian forces move paratroopers, up to 500 units of military equipment to Izium

Russian forces have additionally moved airborne units and up to 500 units of military equipment to the city of Izium in order to strengthen their offensive capabilities.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a Facebook post, referring to operative information as of 06:00 on April 28, Ukrinform reprots.

It is noted that the main efforts of Russian troops are focused on the Izium direction. The enemy is trying to launch an offensive in the directions of Sulyhivka - Nova Dmytrivka and Andriivka - Velyka Komyshuvakha.

According to the General Staff, the enemy is continuing offensive operations in the Eastern Operational Zone in order to establish full control over the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and maintain a land corridor with temporarily occupied Crimea.

The Russian invaders are increasing the pace of the offensive operation. In almost all directions, Russian troops are carrying out intense fire.

The largest offensive activities of Russian forces are recorded in Slobozhanskyi and Donetsk directions.

On February 24, Russia launched a new phase of its eight-year war against Ukraine – a full-scale invasion. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.
