Parliament supports extension of martial law in Ukraine from March 26 for 30 days

The Verkhovna Rada has approved a presidential decree extending martial law in Ukraine from 05:30 on March 26 for 30 days.

The first deputy chairman of the Servant of the People faction, MP Andrii Motovylovets, told Ukrinform about a respective parliament decision.

According to him, more than 300 MPs supported the approval of the president's decree on the extension of martial law in Ukraine.

On March 14, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky registered in the Verkhovna Rada the bill No. 7168 "On Approval of a Decree of the President of Ukraine 'On Extension of Martial Law in Ukraine'."

On February 24, Russian President Putin announced the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops simultaneously crossed Ukraine's borders from the north, the east and Crimea. They have been destroying cities, killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure and residential houses.
