Almost three out of four Americans support Ukraine no-fly zone - poll

Nearly 74% of Americans think the United States should work with NATO to set up "no-fly zones" to protect Ukraine from Russian air strikes.

That’s according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll completed on Friday.

Also, 80% back the idea that the U.S. stop buying Russian oil and gas

The same survey shows 81% of Americans believe Washington must impose more sanctions on Moscow.

At the same time, 77% agree that the United States must seize assets owned by Russian oligarchs who are associated with Vladimir Putin.

Some 62% of respondents in the poll said paying more for fuel and gas because of the crisis was worthwhile to defend another democratic country.

"You see increasing willingness among the American public to pay costs for that support" of Ukraine, said Craig Kafura, a public opinion expert at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, NATO leaders did not agree on shutting down the skies over Ukraine, explaining their more with the fact that the alliance is not a party to the ongoing conflict.
