In Sumy region, the Ukrainian stopped enemy vehicles bound for Kyiv.

Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Dmytro Zhyvytskyi posted this on Facebook, publishing a photo of the damaged Russian equipment which was moving towards the capital along road Kipti-Bachivsk.

"This is Russian equipment moving towards to Kyiv. We were able to stop it in Sumy region. Because Sumy region is the northern outpost of Ukraine. Thanks to everyone involved!" Zhyvytskyi wrote.

According to the Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the situation in Shostka and Konotop districts is more or less calm. "There are power and water supply outages. Territorial defense units and utility service providers work.  The needs of communities are met as much as possible," Zhyvytskyi noted.

As reported, on February 24, Russian president Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion.

Russian troops are killing civilians, shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, and missiles hit Ukrainians' homes.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced. The Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of the entire nation, courageously resist Russian aggression.

Ukraine filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation at the UN International Court of Justice in The Hague. International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan commenced an investigation into the situation in Ukraine.
