Zaporizhzhia NPP declares nuclear threat due to shelling by Russia’s heavy weapons

Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is declaring nuclear threat due to being shelled by Russia’s heavy weapons.

The relevant statement was made by Zaporizhzhia NPP Spokesperson Andrii Tuz on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Russia’s military vehicles are shelling Zaporizhzhia NPP. There is a real nuclear threat at one of Europe’s largest nuclear power plants. We demand that the enemy stop firing on Zaporizhzhia NPP’s power units with heavy weapons!” Tuz stressed.

A reminder that, on March 3, 2022, more than 100 military vehicles entered Enerhodar. The city has been defended by more than 20,000 people over several days. On March 3, 2022, Russians fired on the checkpoint and civilians.
