Founder of Rakuten Viber donates almost $9M to Ukraine

Hiroshi Mikitani, the founder of Japan’s company Rakuten Viber, donated $8.7 million to support Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov wrote on Telegram.

"Our friend, CEO of Rakuten Viber Hiroshi Mikitani, donated $8.7 million to Ukraine. It is unbelievable when the whole world stands with us," Fedorov wrote.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine and launched a large-scale invasion of the country. Missile strikes were carried out on a number of Ukrainian cities, military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were attacked.

Martial law was introduced in Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree introducing general mobilization.
