Ukraine to sign agreement with Moldova on repatriation of unaccompanied children
President Volodymyr Zelensky has authorized Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity Denys Uliutin to sign an agreement with Moldova on cooperation in repatriating unaccompanied children to their country of origin.
The relevant order was published on the website of the President of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
“To authorize the Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, Denys Uliutin, to sign an agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova on cooperation in the repatriation of unaccompanied children to their country of origin,” the document says.
As reported, the Moldovan government states that since March 1, 2023, more than 87,000 people from Ukraine have applied for temporary protection, including about 20,000 children. There are 18 temporary accommodation centers in the republic with a capacity of 1,111 places, which are currently 82% full.
