Ukraine beats own daily vaccination record with nearly 290,000 jabs in past 24 hours

Ukraine health officials say almost 290,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered on October 22, a record daily high since the launch of the inoculation campaign.

That’s according to a Telegram post by the Ministry of Health seen by Ukrinform.

"289,468 people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Of those, 203,265 people received their first dose, while 86,203 were fully immunized," the statement said.

As reported earlier, in the past 24hrs, officials confirmed 23,229 new COVID-19 cases (including 1,777 infected children and 438 medics).

Also for the past day, 5,362 people were admitted to hospitals for COVID-19 treatment, 483 died, and 8,330 recovered.

Since the onset of the pandemic in Ukraine, 2,748,614 people contracted the coronavirus, of whom 2,369,695 recovered and 63486 died. A total of 13,927,353 PCR tests have been run.

Since the launch of the vaccination campaign, 8,760,924 people have been vaccinated, of whom 8,760,922 received a single dose and 6,915,377 were fully immunized.

95% of those hospitalized with COVID-19 last week were non-vaccinated patients

The latest record of almost 270,000 vaccinations was set on October 21.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, as of the morning of October 23, a total of 243,768,851 cases of coronavirus infection had been registered across the world. Also, 4,954,000 corona-related fatalities were confirmed, while 220,889,083 patients recovered.
