Zelensky on €90 billion loan: Meloni is strong leader, and her voice is important for Ukraine

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is a strong leader, and her voice is important for Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed this view in an interview with Italy’s national public broadcaster RAI.

“Giorgia Meloni is a strong leader not only across Europe but also in Brussels. She is one of the most prominent voices, especially regarding aid to Ukraine,” he said.

Zelensky reiterated the need to unblock the EU loan for Ukraine.

“Today, we need to unblock 90 billion euros in aid for our country. This depends on many votes, and Meloni’s vote is very important to us,” the president added.

“Giorgia Meloni has good relations with the United States, and the U.S. must pressure Russia to cease fire and then end this war. The same can be said about Brussels,” Zelensky noted.

As reported by Ukrinform, since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Italy has provided Ukraine with weapons, military equipment, and other resources totaling over €3 billion.
