The European Commission President said that Russia’s large-scale overnight attack on Ukraine “shows the Kremlin’s brutality and disregard for both human life and peace negotiations.”
She stressed that terror against civilians is not strength, it is despair.
“We stand firmly with Ukraine, with further support on the way to reinforce its air defense systems,” von der Leyen wrote.
As reported by Ukrinform, during the night of May 24, Russia carried out another massive attack on Ukrainian cities and civilians. Air defense neutralized 55 missiles and 549 Russian drones launched from the evening of May 23, with Kyiv as the main target. Hits from 16 missiles and 51 drones were recorded across 54 locations.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that at least 83 people were injured in the combined Russian attack since the start of May 24.
