Prosecutors ask court to attach electronic tag to Tymoshenko

Prosecutors ask the High Anti-Corruption Court to impose a preventive measure on MP Yulia Tymoshenko in the form of a bail of ₴50 million and a number of obligations, including wearing an electronic tag.

This was announced by investigating judge Vitalii Dubas during a hearing on the selection of a preventive measure for Tymoshenko, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“[Prosecutors] are requesting [to impose bail] of ₴50 million and to impose obligations: to refrain from communicating with witnesses (66 people), to wear an electronic monitoring device, etc.,” the judge said.

The parties did not file a motion to recuse the judge before the hearing began.

As reported by Ukrinform, on January 13, NABU and SAPO announced that they had exposed the leader of one of the factions for attempting to bribe MPs to vote “correctly” for or against specific bills.

On January 14, Tymoshenko confirmed the searches in the Batkivshchyna party's office. She rejected all accusations.
