Zelensky congratulates Parmelin on his election as Swiss president

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated Guy Parmelin on being elected President of the Swiss Confederation for 2026.

According to Ukrinform, the head of state posted his congratulations on X.

"Switzerland is a reliable partner of Ukraine in everything it takes to achieve a dignified and guaranteed peace. We deeply value comprehensive Switzerland's support since the very beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion. This includes crucial things for Ukraine – protecting our people, providing humanitarian assistance, supporting our joint pressure on Russia and strengthening sanctions," Zelensky said.

He expressed hope for continued close cooperation and stronger partnership between Ukraine and Switzerland across various fields.
