Dzheppar, Simmons discuss further steps within Crimea Platform

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar discussed further steps within the framework of the Crimea Platform with Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Ukraine Melinda Simmons.

“I met with Ambassador of United Kingdom to Ukraine Melinda Simmons and thanked her for the UK’s participation in the Crimea Platform summit. Further steps within the Crimea Platform initiative were discussed. Currently, we are working towards the launch of its activities, in particular the annual Conference on Security in the Black Sea,” Dzheppar posted on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

As reported, the inaugural summit of the Crimea Platform took place on August 23 in Kyiv with the participation of 46 foreign delegations.

The Crimea Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to improve the international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to security challenges, increase international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupation regime, and achieve the main goal of de-occupation of Crimea, and restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty over the peninsula.
