Common Aviation Area Agreement with EU to take effect immediately after conclusion – Zhovkva

The Common Aviation Area Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union will be signed. Currently, the level of EU representation at the signing ceremony is being determined.

The document will take effect immediately after its conclusion, said Deputy Head of the President’s Office Ihor Zhovkva during the discussion "Conditions for successful Ukraine-EU Summit. What to expect from the main European meeting of the year?", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Common aviation area. The agreement will definitely be signed, we are now determining the level of the EU and the Slovenian presidency representation. It will be signed in the presence of the President of Ukraine and the leadership of the European Union," Zhovkva said.

At the same time, he stressed that the Common Aviation Area Agreement would enter into force immediately after its conclusion, before the completion of all relevant ratification procedures.

As reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expressed hope that Ukraine and the European Union would sign the Common Aviation Area Agreement at the 23rd Ukraine-EU Summit on October 12.
