EU ready to assist Ukraine in putting out fires in Chornobyl zone

The EU is ready to provide Ukraine with comprehensive assistance in putting out fires in Chornobyl zone and such support is highly appreciated by the Ukrainian side.

 “The EU always supports Ukraine. During our conversation, EU Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarčič assured that the EU was ready to provide comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in putting out fires in Chornobyl zone. We appreciate the readiness of friends in the EU to help Ukraine,” Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium, Representative of Ukraine to the European Union Mykola Tochytskyi posted on Twitter following the conversation with Lenarčič.

The Ukrainian ambassador retweeted the publication of the EU Commissioner.

“Have just talked to Permanent Representative of the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union Mykola Tochytskyi regarding the fires in Ukraine. Glad to hear the situation is under control,” the Commissioner wrote.

He added that the EU would continue monitoring and remains ready to assist until the fires are put out completely via Copernicus Emergency Management Service and other relevant tools.
