Poroshenko appoints Marchuk Ukraine’s representative in TCG

President Petro Poroshenko has appointed Yevhen Marchuk as Ukraine’s representative in the security subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) for the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas – Ukraine’s representative in the TCG.

First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and Ukraine’s representative in the TCG humanitarian subgroup Iryna Gerashchenko wrote this on her Facebook page.

“President Poroshenko has appointed Yevhen Kyrylovych Marchuk as Ukraine’s representative in the TCG. All these difficult years, Yevhen Kyrylovych has properly represented Ukraine in the security group. He knows the Minsk negotiation process and will firmly defend Ukraine’s national interests,” she said.

As reported, former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma left the post of Ukraine's representative in the TCG on October 2.

Yevhen Marchuk served as head of the Security Service of Ukraine (1991-1994), prime minister (1995-1996), and defense minister (2003-2004). He was also a people’s deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of several convocations.
