Death toll from severe weather in Odesa rises to 10
Rescuers in Odesa have discovered the body of a tenth victim following the heavy rainfall that hit the city on September 30.
This was announced during a briefing in Odesa by Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba, according to Ukrinform.
“The rainfall lasted more than 12 hours. Unfortunately, ten people died,” Kuleba stated.
He added that a special commission will be established at the Odesa Regional Military Administration to investigate the causes of the tragedy.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, nine people—including a child—had been confirmed dead in Odesa and the surrounding district due to the severe weather.
