Armed attack on Israeli consulate in Istanbul leaves several injured

An armed attack has taken place at the Israeli consulate building in Istanbul. One of the attackers was killed, and two others were neutralized and wounded. Two police officers were also injured.

According to Ukrinform, CNN Türk reported the details.

“The attack took place at the Israeli consulate building in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul. Three attackers were neutralized, and two police officers were wounded,” the Istanbul Police Department reported.

Later, the Istanbul Governor’s Office clarified that one of the attackers was killed, while two were neutralized and wounded.

“This major attack was prevented with minimal consequences thanks to the measures taken by our police,” the Istanbul Governor’s Office stated.

Forensic experts are currently working at the scene, and an official investigation into the incident has been launched. The identities of the attackers have not yet been disclosed.

As reported by Ukrinform, on November 13, 2022, an explosion occurred in central Istanbul, killing six people—four at the scene and two in the hospital. Eighty-one people were injured.
