Zaporizhzhia region experiences three blackouts in January

The Zaporizhzhia region experienced two large-scale blackouts and one local blackout in January.

This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

According to Fedorov, in January, the Zaporizhzhia region experienced two blackouts, another one affected the city of Vilniansk and more than 90 settlements in the region.

This month, the occupiers carried out 90 strikes on the region's infrastructure, deliberately damaging power grids and other energy equipment.

During this period, thanks to the round-the-clock work of Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo JSC specialists, electricity supply was restored to more than 180,000 families. Despite snowfalls and frosts, most accidents were eliminated within 5-12 hours, and the longest restoration works did not exceed 24 hours. 450 specialists were involved in working in bad weather.

“Currently, about 14,000 consumers in frontline communities are still without power. The security situation there does not yet allow repair work to begin,” said the head of the RMA.

As reported by Ukrinform, emergency power cuts have been implemented in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
