Almost all NPP units return to nominal capacity – Ukrenergo
The situation in Ukraine's energy system is gradually stabilizing. Almost all nuclear power plant units that were forced to reduce output due to the morning system-wide accident have already returned to their nominal capacity.
NPC Ukrenergo stated this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
As the company noted, the process of ramping up NPP output is ongoing.
"The emergency power outages that were forcibly applied during the day in several regions are currently no longer in effect, and consumers are returning to scheduled hourly outage plans. Critical infrastructure was supplied with power as a priority. In some regions, local power outages remain due to the consequences of adverse weather conditions and breaks in distribution lines caused by ice buildup. The situation remains particularly difficult in the Odesa region," Ukrenergo said.
Emergency repair and restoration work is ongoing both due to the consequences of the system-wide accident and at facilities that were damaged during previous Russian shelling.
Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore equipment to operation as quickly as possible.
As Ukrinform reported, on January 31 a technological disruption occurred between the energy systems of Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine, with a simultaneous power grid shutdown.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation stated that the emergency situation in the energy system was not caused by a cyberattack.
