Ukraine’s agricultural production down 6.8% in 2025 – State Statistics Service

In 2025, Ukraine’s agricultural output fell 6.8% from the previous year.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the State Statistics Service.

By year-end, the agricultural production index in Ukraine stood at 93.2% of the 2024 level. Specifically, crop production amounted to 92.5% of the previous year’s figure, while livestock production reached 95.9%.

A slight increase in agricultural output was recorded in only two regions – Chernihiv region (+4.1%) and Sumy region (+0.5%).

All other regions showed negative dynamics. The sharpest declines were observed in Donetsk (-44.7%), Kherson (-33.7%), and Zaporizhzhia (-21.6%) regions.

As previously reported, Ukraine’s state budget for 2026 for the first time allocates UAH 60 million to support agricultural insurance for producers.

Under a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, compensation is provided for part of the insurance premiums paid – up to 60% of the premium cost for producers operating in frontline communities, and up to 45% for other agricultural producers.
